Have you done anything exciting this week?  Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company is actively recruiting new and inactive members.  Please consider taking advantage of the Free Training, provided by the University of Maryland, Fire and Rescue Institute; Free Uniforms and protective gear; and lucrative state tax incentives and join us today.  Volunteers are needed for Fire & Rescue, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Fire Cadets, and Administrative/fund Raising. 

If you have time, view the videos explaining the process involved in joining and watch a demonstration of responding to a call.

Down load and fill out a membership application today!  The application can be found in our "Downloads" section, along with a copy of our By-Laws and Constitution.


 
TEXAS HOLD 'EM POKER TOURNAMENTS - MARCH 10 and APRIL 7, 2012
Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a No Limit, Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament fund raisers on Saturday, MARCH 10th, 2012 and APRIL 7th, 2012 at 1:00 PM.  The entry fee will be $75 with $50 going to the prize pool.  Beer, Soda and Water will be included in the entry fee.  Initial buy-in includes $5000 in chips and there will be no re-buys or add ons.  Food will be available for purchase.  Side tables and other games will be available for tournament players only.  All eight finalists will share the prize pool with 30% going to the first place finisher.  Thirty minute blinds with a starting level of $25/$50. with no ante.  The house rake will benefit the fire company.  Call Tom DiFatta 443-786-4532 or email tdifatta@comcast.net. 


 
   
   
Motor Vehicle Collision with Rollover
Monday, January 16, 2012

January 16, 2012 - Talbot Center dispatched Station 80 (Queen Anne-Hillsboro) for a 10-50 PI with rollover at the intersection of Route 50 and Route 404. Units arrived on location to find one vehicle overturned with the occupant out of the vehicle. After patient assessment, Paramedics requested Aviation. One patient was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by Trooper 6.

Units on scene: Rescue 84, Ambulance 81, QAC Paramedic 40, Trooper 6 and MSP

QAHVFC ANNUAL DINNER - APRIL 15th, 2012
   
Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company is hosting its Annual Dinner on Sunday, APRIL 15th, 2012 between 12.00 - 4:00 PM.  The menu includes old tyme country ham, southern fried chicken, chicken & dumplings, parsley potatoes, kale, string beans, apple sauce, cole slaw, beets, rolls, deserts and drinks.  Advance tickets are $15.00 for adults, $7.00 for children between the ages of 5-12 years old and children under 5 are free.  Tickets at the door are $16.00 for adults, $7.50 for children ages 5-12 and kids under 4 are free.  Carry outs are availble.  Call 443-448-4147 or 410-364-9140 for tickets or information.


 
Motor Vehicle Collision on Tuckahoe Road
Thursday, October 13, 2011

October 13, 2011 - Caroline dispatched Station 80 (Queen Anne-Hillsboro), Station 400 (Ridgely) and Paramedic 13 for an MVC on Tuckahoe Road in the area of Fleming Road.

Units arrived on location to find two vehicles involved with one of them located in a deep drainage ditch. Officer 801 (C. McNeal) established “Tuckahoe Road” command. One patient was transported to the Memorial Hospital at Easton with minor injuries.

Units on scene: Rescue 84, Engine 405, Paramedic 13 and Maryland State Police

QAHVFC Mourns Loss of Firefighter/Paramedic Greg Hamilton

It is with deep regret and sorrow that the officers and members of Queen Anne-Hillsboro announce the untimely passing of Firefighter/Paramedic Greg Hamilton. Greg answered his last alarm on Tuesday April 12th.  He was involved in an auto accident on Maryland Route 404 and Maryland Route 16 while returning home from his job as a paramedic for Delmar Fire Company.

Greg has proudly served the Queen Anne- Hillsboro Fire Company for the past 6 years and was very active, serving in many positions and had served the company proudly in the role of EMS Captain. He was always involved in EMS and proudly served the fire company as one of our most active paramedics.


Greg was a brother and well known through out the Fire / EMS Service. Greg not only volunteered for Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company but he also was employed with the Goodwill Fire Company and Delmar Fire Company. Greg always provided excellent patient care with pride and dignity. Greg was also an active member of the Maryland Red Knights Chapter 2 in Easton.Greg will be greatly missed by Queen Anne-Hillsboro, but he will also be missed by the surrounding Tri-County area and his brothers in Delmar.

Arrangements are

Visitation Tuesday April 19th from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Centreville

Services Wednesday April 20 at 11:00 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Chester.  Companies wishing to bring apparatus are urged to contact Chief Craig McNeal (410-829-5993) or Asst. Chief Chris Morgan (443-786-4661).

QAHVFC Mourns the Loss of Marion Easter Morgan

Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company mourns the loss of Life Member, Marion Easter "Monk" Morgan, who passed away early Sunday morning, February 27, 2011.  Monk joined the QAHVFC in 1951 and remain active as a firefighter and as a member of the Board of Directors.  He was 86 years old at the time of his passing.

Monk also served in the United States Navy during World War II and received two Bronze Star medals during his service as an Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) member in the South Pacific.  The Bronze Star is a U.S. Armed Forces individual military decoration and the fourth-highest award for bravery, heroism or meritorious service. Awarded to a member of the military who, while serving in or with the military of the United States after December 6, 1941, distinguished him or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States.
